| Florida Jazz Plus is all about the business of providing only the highest quality musical services available anywhere! Founded by Don Zentz, JB Scott, Lisa Kelly, and Tim Ornato - this multi-talented and award winning quartet provides the organization and its clients with over 125 years of diverse musical experience and leadership. With credits that include performances with Natalie Cole, Doc Severinsen, Al Hirt, Lou Rawls, Ray Charles, and many of the legendary big bands - to leading The Dukes Of Dixieland, serving on collegiate music faculties, representing musical instrument companies, giving twenty years of service to the US Navy Band, performing at Europe’s most prestigious jazz festivals, and receiving awards by Down Beat Magazine - the founding members of Florida Jazz Plus are certainly recognized for their talents and abilities as consummate professional musicians. And this is the theme for ALL the musicians who make the music for Florida Jazz Plus and its clients. Our musical ensembles are comprised of only the finest players who are committed to their craft, profession, and the FJP organization. None of our bands are “pick-up” groups or made up of “pick-up” players. This is the all-too-common trend today in the music business. Our groups maintain an awesome set of personnel that ensures an uncomprising standard of excellence in terms of musical product. We are very proud of the FJP musicians and encourage you to review their qualifications on our website! They are truly “the best of the best”!!! Jazz is definitely our forte at Florida Jazz Plus - and all kinds of jazz at that! But the “plus” side of our domain includes a rock variety band, a patriotic ceremonial band, and even a chamber brass ensemble. Our educational component focuses on the promulgation of jazz as America’s true art form. Through age-appropriate concert presentations led by nationally acclaimed music educators, students are exposed to and taught about jazz music in their schools.
